The African University of Science and Technology (AUST) is the first of the Nelson Mandela Institutions (NMIs). It was established in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2007, as a centre of excellence in science and technology with a focus on African development.
The African University of Science and Technology (AUST) is a post-graduate university which is part of a university system concept developed by the Nelson Mandela Institution (NMI) with the aim of bringing the highest level of technical education and research facilities to the continent of Africa. AUST represents a global effort to foster Sub-Saharan Africa's economic growth and development through the promotion of excellence in science and engineering and their applications.
